Major changes in the game of archery

Over 25 years ago when I left archery, the compound bow was new as was the release.
Many people could not accept this new equipment and it was difficult for us to get started. I went to a state tournament and was stuck in a corner so I would not be accepted as part of the group. We tried to develop releases that were not mechanical, but today all that has changed. Releases are mechanical triggers that both target shooters and hunters alike are taking advantage of. I'm personally getting back into the "new" archery that I've found since returning.

more on my archery return

Tuesday I joined my old friends at the indoor range to shoot some more arrows. My good friend Stan brought with him a bow (PSE) that he had reduced the draw down to 36 lbs. This made shooting possible for me. Now the next thing I needed to do was actually hit the target. After wild shooting I began to get things under control by the time I got some control, my out of shape muscles were done for that day. However I must admit the shooting is enjoyable, it's fun getting with old friends and I'm looking forward to having regular shooting all winter.

First time in years attempting to shoot a compound archery bow

Well I did it. It's been over 25 years since I shot a compound bow. And it showed yesterday when I attempted to do it again. My friend brought an extra PSE brand bow that he had and I quickly found that not only pulling the bow was difficult, also holding up the mass weight of 6.5 pounds was very difficult. Then there was the trouble holding the sight on the target. This was the most laughable thing. But by the time we quit practicing I was beginning to get into shooting shape and I believe it will be back after a time or two.

archery talk

after over 25 years out of target archery, I'm about to stick my foot back in. I'll need equipment to get me back in business. Make a recommendation. As I know nothing about current. I want a compound and state of the art arrows.
